Obituary of Bret J. Zorzi

Please share a memory of Bret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Thursday, August 13, 2015, Bret Zorzi, surrounded by his family, was called to be with the Lord and passed away peacefully in his home. He was 57 years old. Bret was a life-long resident of Minotola, NJ. He recently retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 27 years as a mail carrier in Mays Landing, NJ. He was also an officer and an original member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 270, an active parishioner of our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, member of the Buena Borough Land Use Board, and former member of the Minotola Fire Company. Bret is survived by his wife of 30 years, Francesca (Serra) Zorzi; sons, Anthony and Frankie; mother Jerry Zorzi; sister Lynn and Eddie Castellari; brother Alan and Patty; and brother Mark and Orysia. He is predeceased by his father Raymond Zorzi and sister Jo-An. Bret's hobbies included collecting various types of sports memorabilia. He enjoyed his weekly trips to the flea market and card shows and could never pass up a good buy. Bret had a laid back zest for life and enjoyed surrounding himself with his family and good friends. Always the life of the party, he was the consummate host and quite the entertainer who was known for dabbling in the art of Karaoke, along with his love of creating party-mix CD's for his friends. Making sure everyone had a good time was at the top of his list. He was the most humble and kindest of gentlemen who never realized how many lives he touched by being just a good guy. His loves included the Dallas Cowboys, BEER, the Fightin' Phils, Jeff Gordon, playing pinochle, a fine cigar, and his music; but he saved his greatest love for his wife and 2 sons who were the light of his life. Everything he did was for their happiness and enjoyment; always putting them before himself. He was never more content when all of his chicks were in his nest. His wife asks that when you remember Bret do not think of him sick and in a hospital bed, but remember him greeting you at his front door with that charming smile, a twinkle in his eye, and with a beer in his hand. He will be sorely missed by all but his spirit will carry on. The heavens have gained a new shining star. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, August 17th at 11am at Our Lady of The Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Michael's Church, Minotola. Bret will be laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery, Newfield, NJ. Family and friends will be received on Sunday evening from 5pm to 8pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland and again on Monday morning from 9am to 10:45am at the CHURCH. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Brain Tumor Association. http://www.abta.org/
