Annie Mae Boyd, 85 of Vineland passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. She was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on January 30, 1930 and was the 5th of 14 children, to the late William and Annie (Lowery) Boyd. At an early age Annie accepted Christ into her life. She attended school in Guilford County in Greensboro and went to Dudley High School. She became a member of Mount Zion Holiness Church. In 1949 Annie moved to Washington, DC where she became a nanny and started a long life of caring for children. She learned to appreciate her love for classical music and learned to sing opera. In 1951 she followed her sisters, Eugenia and Louise to New York and there she joined the Tabernacle of Israel. Annie was an avid reader and had a love for all religions and believed that no matter what faith you believed in, you believed in a higher power. Her God was one of everlasting love. In 1963 she moved to New Jersey and worked for Parnos and Garwood Mills and later at Venice Maid. In 1969 she started her childcare service which she continued until 2004 while she continued her education. Annie, who was in her 60's at the time, graduated from Cumberland County College and Stockton State College and received a Bachelor's degree in Science. She is predeceased by one daughter, Jacqueline Boyd. Survived by her children; Carl Lee Boyd of Fl., Delores Jean Moore of NY, Yarisa Reckley of Vineland, Roger William Boyd of MD, Destiny Lloyd-Boyd of Vineland; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers; Rufus and Harvey Boyd and 2 sisters; Margaret Seaberry and Helen Moorehead and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015 in Brooklyn, New York. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland, NJ.
