Obituary of Walter L. Muessig

It is with a sad heart that I write of the passing of Walter Muessig. Walt was 74 years old and is survived by his wife Barbara Muessig nee Magazu, his daughter, Cheryl Muessig, friend, Cheryl McGuire of San Diego, CA and a sister, Glenna Moyer and her husband Rod. He was preceded in death by a daughter Caren, his mother, Pearl Holdcraft Muessig and father, Arthur Muessig. Walt was a carpenter, cabinet maker and all around entrepreneur. He was a member of the Deerfield Elks, Diamond Social Club, Vineland Eagles, Cumberland County Regular Republicans Organization, as well as being a Master Board Worker for the Cumberland County Board of Elections. He was an exempt firefighter of South Vineland Company Number 2 and a member of the New Jersey Fire Police. Walt was also a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Radio Relay League. He was an amateur radio operator, his call sign being KC2WEJ. He was past president of the Mahogany Ski Club and the Country Rhythm Dancers. He enjoyed Couples Dancing with his wife Barbara and others. Funeral services will be held on Monday evening at 8:30pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
