Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Virginia (Granato) Cinaglia 93, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Genesis Nursing Facility after a long 10 year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Her family was by her side as she slipped into God's hands. She was born November 21, 1921 in Rossiter, Pa. to Louis and Frances Granato and was married to the love of her life, Leo, for 68 years. She was a lifelong resident of Minotola, NJ where she was a successful homemaker, loving wife and mother in addition to being employed as a seamstress by several local clothing factories during the 1950's and 1960's. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Although she never had the opportunity to realize she had great-grandchildren, her oldest great granddaughter, 4 year old Alexandra, would often accompany her Grammy (Mary Capriotti) when she visited her in the nursing home. Alexandra truly enjoyed taking care of and saying her favorite prayer for her "Great Grandmom Virginia". Virginia was a beautiful woman who was very meticulous about her appearance and her home. She was filled with energy and spirit. She brought life into the house. She loved cooking and baking especially for birthdays and the major holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Baking Christmas cookies and apple pie along with making cheese ravioli and as she always called it "gravy" were among her specialties. In addition, she loved traveling with Leo and their friends throughout Europe. However, her most proudest moment of personal success was when she received her GED in December 1981 at the age of 60. Virginia is survived by her husband, Leo and children; son, Joseph (Susan) Cinaglia; daughters, Mary F. Capriotti (fiancée, Dr. John Herrmann) and Theresa (Skip) Dell; grandchildren, Michelle (Jonathan) Graiff, Michael (Holly) Capriotti, Stephen, Kristyn and Katelyn Hague; great grandchildren, Alexandra Graiff, Marco, Milania and Avalina Capriotti along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her son Anthony R. Cinaglia, her parents and 11 siblings. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at noon on Thursday, January 22nd at Our Lady of The Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Michael's Church, 504 W. Ave., Minotola. Entombment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Vineland. Friends and family will be received from 10 am to 11:45am at the church. Donations in memory of Virginia can be made to Our Lady of The Blessed Sacrament Parish, 202 N.W. Blvd., Landisville, NJ 08326; or Genesis of Millville, 54 Sharp St, Millville, NJ 08332.
