Tharp, Howard "Barry" Sr. 58 yrs. devoted husband of Eileen Tharp (Goodman) of Lake Gilman, NJ. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 20, 2014. Born and raised in Vineland, NJ. Barry is the son of Mussetta Cathy Mosjitschuk (Tharp) and the late Howard E. Tharp. As a child, many summers were spent at Palatine Lake at the grandparents' homestead. After a brief stay in the US Army, Mr. Tharp's career started as a professional bull rider for the American Rodeo Association. Then onto being an Outrider for the racetracks, blacksmithing and construction work. His love of horses started when he was very young and there's no place he'd rather be than on a horse. For years traveling up and down the coast from NJ to Florida, then Massachusetts just so he could do what he loved. Barry took great pleasure in helping others. He would devote his time whenever possible for whom ever needed him. He was survived by his loving wife, Eileen (Goodman) (Lake Gilman NJ); Mother, Mussetta Cathy Mosjitschuk (Tharp) and stepfather, Michael (Buena); daughter, Danielle Tharp (Vineland); Son, H. Barry Tharp (Woodbridge) and his son, Jaysen; daughter, Casey Bender (Tharp) Northfield and her husband Brian and their son, Cole, daughter, Ashley Gallimore (Tharp) North Carolina and her daughter, Melissa; brother, Gary L. Tharp (Newfield) and his wife, Bonnie; brother, Donald B. Tharp (Buena) and his wife, Marianne as well as his sister-in-law, Peggy Vasta (Aura) He is predeceased by his sister, Patricia Wilson (Tharp) (Vineland); in-laws, James D. and Anna Goodman; brother in-law, James D. Goodman Jr. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts, nephews and cousins. Barry also leaves behind his adopted families from Lake Gilman and the racetracks whom he also had kept close to his heart. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Friends will be received on Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm and again on Thursday morning from 10am to 11am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Liver Transplant Unit in Camden, NJ in the memory of H. Barry Tharp.
