Please share a memory of Gloria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gloria Ann Centeno was born on December 12, 1960 to the late Emma Cruz in Norma, NJ. She departed this life peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Gloria Centeno met her husband Pablo Centeno in 1976 and they married on June 4, 1988. They've been together for 37 years and stood strong together. From that union they had two amazingly smart and beautiful children. They were a very happy, caring, and loving couple, who always helped and did many things together and for others. She attended Vineland High School where she was an all-star basketball player and track star. Gloria went off to seek employment with Bally's Casino where she worked for 27 years. Gloria showed off her artistic skills in sewing, crafting, interior decorating, and event planning which she mastered and loved to do dearly. Gloria will be highly remembered as a hard worker at whatever she put her hands to do. Gloria was the matriarch and the historian for her family; always encouraging them to PRAY, KNOW GOD FOR THEMSELVES and STAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY. She never met a stranger and was always eager to help them even if it meant assisting them with wise counsel that would help them along their way. Over the years Gloria learned a lot about GOD whom she was encouraged by her daughter Lucy to attend church. She is leaving a great legacy for her children and grandchildren to live by. She rehearsed her wishes and importance of GOD with her children years in advance of her demise. She also stressed with them to put GOD first and pray. She loved her family and friends dearly and never hesitated to speak the truth. Sis Gloria Centeno accepted Christ and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Jesse Mercado of First Rivers of Living Waters; Landisville, New Jersey. She served as a Secretary for the Ministry. She was faithful and dedicated for a number of years and supported all the ministry functions. She loved the song "No Loved Lost" by Jason Crabb. She loved her church and attended faithfully for as long as her health permitted. Sister Gloria A. Centeno will be missed by her family, her church, and the community. She was preceded in death by her grandson Eduardo Rivera Jr. Gloria leaves to celebrate life with Christ, her husband Pablo Centeno of Millville, NJ, her son Francisco Centeno of Brooklyn, NY, her daughter Lucy Centeno of Millville, NJ, her son-in-law Eduardo Rivera Sr. of Millville, NJ; her daughter-in-law Tawana Hines of Brooklyn, NY; her 4 grandchildren Xavier, Elias, Aniyah, and Sanaa, her brother Tony and sister Annette, and a of host relatives, church family, and friends. We the family of the late Gloria Ann Centeno would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude and sincere appreciation. Every expression of comfort and every act of kindness shall be remembered. May God richly bless you with His prevailing love and peace.
